The Goal - The Paul Henderson Story

It was 50 years ago that Paul Henderson scored the “Goal of the Century”, the winning goal that clinched the victory for Canada against Russia in the 1972 Summit Series, which made him a national hero. Born in Kincardine ON and raised in Lucknow, a village on the outskirts of Kincardine, Paul is the Kincardien hometown hockey hero.

This Canadian hockey legend played over 1,000 games in his professional career with the NHL and WHA, during which he scored 376 goals. Paul has been inducted into several Sports Halls of fame including Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. He has also been honored with numerous awards including the Order of Canada and two honorary Doctors of Divinity degrees.

Since retiring from professional hockey, Paul has invested his life mentoring and teaching countless men and women. He is the founder of LeaderImpact, and has co-authored several books, including his biography, “The Goal of My Life: A Memoir”. He is a top motivational speaker, drawing on his experience from the competitive professional sports world to help leaders in the business world navigate through issues like teamwork and leadership.
